In my first couple of weeks, I completed the Ben Nevis Ultra Marathon in the Highlands of Scotland. This footrace moves through airy ridges, a couple of mountain passes, beautiful glens, and five munros (peaks over 1000 meters in Scotland), including the highest peak in Britain – Ben Nevis. For more on the route, check the event website.
While I was a bit jet lagged from coming back from the Drawdown Conference, it was a lovely, rare, sunny day out (albeit a long one for me). While there was a lot of suffering during 52kms and endless vertical climbing (well 4000m certainly felt endless), I would definitely do it again. Here are a couple snapshots I took during the race. The Scottish Highlands are beautiful mountains, and I’m certainly looking forward to exploring them a bit more during my time here.
